From In to Amen: Infallible & True
It's all about the starting point! The Holy Bible is God's Word, infallible and perfectly reliable from the first word IN to the last word AMEN. When we try to fit God's Word into the world's view, we begin to compromise the Bible's authority in our lives. The world doesn't want to start with God's Word; The world wants to start with doubt. It wants you to doubt God's existence or if that doesn't work, it wants you to doubt God's Word. "Did God really say?" is how we became a fallen world apart from God and it is still how we are being tricked into compromising God's authority in our lives.
Genesis 1, the creation story, starts with IN the beginning..... and from there explains the creation of the world in 6 days and on day God rested. At The Entire Truth we understand that to be literal 24 hour days. We believe from the beginning that God set in motion the foundation of the world as it exists today. Why would we not? The Bible describes each day of creation and ends with an evening and a morning on each day, just as it exists today.
This very first verse is where many people begin to doubt God. Isn't the world millions of years old? The Bible certainly doesn't indicate that. Can't science prove the world is millions of years old? No, it can try, but at best it methods are unreliable. While this thinking may not be a matter of salvation. Romans 10:9 says, If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord." and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. But if you can compromise here, why would you not be inclined to compromise elsewhere in scripture. Don't build your faith on a shaky foundation of compromise.
......AMEN. The last word is Amen which means firm, fixed, true, to be reliable, to be trusted. Everything between the very first word IN to the last word AMEN is firm, fixed, true, reliable and trustworthy.
It is important to understand that even though the Bible is literal, not each word will be interpreted in a literal context. The Bible consists of many forms of writing. God uses poetry, prophecy, history, parables, and figures of speech to convey His message. It is important to read the Bible with an open conscience and be prepared for what God is going to speak to you and recognize which method of written word He is using. So with this I leave you, "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. AMEN." - Revelation 22:21
